If you have enjoyed a lifetime of good oral health, you may not know what to expect when a problem like tooth decay does arise. There are different strategies your dentist will employ to provide you with restorative dental care, based on the severity of your cavity. Many patients will have their problem tooth restored with a dental crown. The reason a crown can be used is to protect a tooth that has suffered a relatively large degree of decay, or has been damaged to the point that you require advanced support. Your crown can be discreet, meaning it will be difficult for a person to tell it apart from your natural teeth, which means your smile should not be disrupted by its presence. (more…)
Recognizing The Value Of A Professional Whitening Treatment
If you are bothered by the way discoloration has altered your smile, a professional whitening treatment can provide a big boost to your appearance, and your confidence. If you are looking for reasons your teeth are not as white as they used to be, there are plenty of possible culprits. A fondness for dark liquids, like coffee, tea, or soft drinks, can leave your enamel affected by stains. Tobacco products, in addition to being a real oral health risk, can also have a negative cosmetic effect. If you want to whiten your teeth, let your dentist know. They can talk to you about professional treatment, or let you know if you would be better off using an alternative cosmetic dental procedure to improve your smile. (more…)
Will You Need A Filling During Your Next Dental Appointment?
When you go in for a regular dental checkup, you can face a looming question – will they find something wrong? If you care for your teeth, and limit your consumption of sugar, then you should have few worries when going in for a routine appointment. However, even people who are confident in the effort they put into taking care of their teeth may find themselves needing a dental filling at some point. If you do need a filling, you should know that your restorative dental work can blend with your smile. It is also good to remember that avoiding the dentist’s office will let a problem grow, and your cavity can become more serious. (more…)

Are You Facing A Higher Cavity Risk?
Different factors can affect how susceptible you are to tooth decay, and those factors can change over time. That means while you previously had considerable luck when it came to preventing dental problems, that luck can go away. Some people see their cavity risk raise because the enamel on their teeth has worn down over time. For others, dietary changes can have an impact, as can conditions like dry mouth. If you want to stay on top of your oral care, and avoid problems that demand restorative dental work, make sure you see your dentist for regular visits. You will receive professional cleanings at each session, and the evaluation can turn up small problems, so that you can enjoy care before that small problem turns into something bigger. (more…)

A Better Smile In 2017 Thanks To Porcelain Veneers
Cosmetic dental work can make sure you spend 2017 feeling good when you show off your smile. With porcelain veneers, you can tackle a range of problems that are currently hurting your overall appearance. Damage and discoloration are both treatable by having porcelain veneers placed. The process involves two appointments. At the first trip to your dentist, your teeth will be reviewed, to confirm that veneers are right for you. Preparatory work will also be done – your measurements will taken, so that your dentist can ensure your veneers are the exact fit required, and preparatory work will prepare your teeth to accept them. When you return, your dentist will permanently bond your veneers, and send you home with a terrific, flawless smile. (more…)

Modern Dental Care That Provides Real Patient Comfort
Modern dental practices can help put patients at ease – sometimes literally. Dental sedation is available when patients are undergoing a more involved treatment, or for those who experience real dental anxiety. Upgraded imaging technology allows your dentist to take a close study of your oral health using intraoral cameras and digital x-rays, which use significantly less radiation than traditional imaging devices. Dental technology can also put patients at ease by providing restorative dental care that avoids disrupting their smile. Restorations can be effective, while still being discreet. (more…)
