We Will Examine Your Tooth

We will need to fully examine your tooth to determine the extent of your cavity. This means that after taking a visual check of your tooth, we will utilize advanced imaging. By taking a digital X-ray of your tooth, we can see more clearly what is happening beneath its surface. We will plan your restorative treatment accordingly.

We May Offer A Dental Filling

If your cavity is mild to moderate, we may suggest a dental filling. With this restorative treatment, we will numb your tooth and then remove the decay from the hole in your tooth. Once we smooth the tooth tissue, we will then fill the area with composite – a synthetic resin material that we will match to your surrounding tooth color. This will restore your tooth’s appearance, structure, and comfort.

You May Need A Crown

Dealing with a serious, deep cavity but no infection? A filling alone may leave your tooth too vulnerable to breakage. In this case, we may also offer a dental crown, or a hollow artificial tooth that we will use to cover and protect your tooth, so you may continue smiling, chewing, and speaking in comfort.
