When the jubilee of holidays begins to simmer down, it does not take too long for the kids and family to start to get bored. Even without holiday celebrations, there are plenty of activities in Mansfield and surrounding cities to keep the fun going.   1. January 12th marks the Grand Opening of the Epic Waters Indoor Water Park in Grand Prairie. The park is 80,000 square feet and one of the largest indoor water parks in the world. The park is open year-round no matter the weather outside. It features the largest indoor lazy river in Texas. There are eleven water slides, a retail shop, and a 4,000 square feet of arcade, food, and beverage outlets. For the Grand Opening, Epic Waters will give away annual passes to the first 50 people in line. Admission prices are available online; children under the age of 3 can enter for free.
  2. The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth is hosting a Kids Drop-In Studio. This program is free and it introduces children (ages 12 and younger) and their parents or adult companions to fun and inspiring ways to enjoy art together. Each studio session features a brief gallery activity and a related studio-art project. The January theme is Ready, Set, Draw. Because space is limited, the sign-up will begin one hour prior to the program beginning. The event takes place from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. on January 13th and 27th.
  3. The Repticon Expo has hit the city of Grapevine. Repticon Reptile and Exotic Animal Conventions is a reptile and exotic pet show held in the Grapevine Convention Center. The event has lasted for ten years in various cities throughout the United States. There will be informative and interactive sessions along with raffle door prizes.
