Feeling concerned about your dental visit because you’re not sure that you will be able to relax (or you’re simply too anxious to come see us) is something we are more than happy to accommodate. We empathize with patients and know that a trip to the dentist to keep your teeth and gums healthy, even for a consultation in some cases, can be too emotionally overwhelming to handle. The good news is that we offer sedation dentistry to help you feel at ease about receiving care, rather than concerned. Speak with us about your candidacy to find out which sedation solution is best for your needs. Hint: Most patients and particular needs qualify.
Common Qualifications for Sedation Dentistry
- Severe Dental Anxiety. Patient after patient suffers from something we refer to as severe dental anxiety. This means that you may feel so beyond worried about a trip to the dentist that you might not even be able to call us. We encourage you to recognize that you’re not alone if you identify with this experience. Instead, speak with us about how we can help with sedation dentistry.
- General Nervousness. You may think that your nerves are not quite severe enough for sedation but this is not the case. Some patients experience general nervousness that makes scheduling the treatment they need (when they need it) quite difficult – sedation is appropriate for mild nerves, as well.
- Overactive Gag Reflex. Do you find that you gag with even the gentlest touch? Some patients experience difficulty with nearly every type of treatment (even checkups) as a result of a gag reflex. You can enjoy a more tranquil experience, less stress, and a relaxed gag reflex, too, with sedation.
- Complex, Time-Consuming Treatment. Sedation dentistry is even well suited to patients who have chosen to receive lengthy treatment during a condensed block of time. Rather than worrying about patiently lying in our chair for an extended period of time, you may enjoy a relaxed visit with sedation.
