Nobody enjoys dealing with tooth loss. However, patients are usually relieved and excited to learn about the wonderful options available to them for replacing teeth. If you are missing one tooth or up to three teeth side-by-side (rather than spread out from one another), a bridge may assist you in achieving the complete smile you desire and need for comfortable, effective daily function. We recognize that patients often have preconceived notions about dental bridges and most prosthetics, which is why we would like for you to become more familiar with every solution. Thanks to advances in dental technology, today’s tooth replacement options offer modern, beautiful finishes for patients of all ages. Ready to learn more? Read ahead:

About the Process

You will initially visit us for a consultation, when we will examine your mouth to ensure you make a good candidate for a dental bridge. We will speak with you about your needs and smile goals, while explaining what to expect. Before creating your bridge, our team will take impressions of your mouth, so you receive a custom-fitted bridge with replacement teeth color-matched to your surrounding teeth. You can expect an undetectable transition from your natural teeth to your bridge for a truly beautiful result.

Placing Your Bridge

When your bridge is complete, you will visit us for placement. Understanding how the bridge works is significant when learning about how it is placed. Become familiar with the following details:

  • A dental bridge includes a series of connected artificial teeth
  • On each end of the dental bridge is a dental crown – we will cement the crown over the “anchor teeth” – or the natural tooth that rests on each side of your smile opening
  • Resting between the crowns are replacement teeth called “pontics” which will fill the opening in your smile for a uniform finish
  • We will cement the bridge in place for long-term wear
