In today’s blog, we’re going to look at events coming up in the Mansfield, TX, community! Summertime means your kids are on break and that our community will be hosting a lot of fun and exciting events. Community Events

  1. Little Naturalists: The Little Naturalists’ program for children ages three to five, Curious Caterpillars, will take place on Wednesday, May 22nd from 10:30am to 11:30am. The event is hosted by the Mansfield Activities Center and will take place at the Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park on 1650 Matlock Road. Early bird admission is $7 and regular is $9. Children can learn how to experience nature, with songs, reading, crafts, and a chance to enjoy hands-on nature exploration. They will also be able to meet live animals!
  2. Kayaking at Britton Park: On Sunday, May 26th you can enjoy kayaking at Britton Park from 2pm until 4pm in the creek alongside Joe Pool Lake. Instructions for proper safety and kayaking techniques, as well as how to enjoy an eco-friendly approach to paddling, will be provided. Early bird admission is $22 and regular admission is $24. The event is hosted by the Mansfield Activities Center.
  3. Junior Geologists: Your children can learn about geology on Tuesday, May 28th, with a class for kids ages 5 to 8 from 10am until 11am, and ages 9 to 14 from 11:30am until 12:30pm. Learn about fossils, Earth’s history, and more with a trained naturalist at the Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park.
  4. Intro to Fishing: Help your little one learn how to fish! An Intro to Fishing class for kids ages 3 to 16 on Friday, May 31st from 1pm until 2pm. The course will take place at the Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park on 1650 Matlock Road. All equipment and bait will be provided, and your child will learn how to bait the hook and reel in a fish. Early bird admission is $7 and regular is $9.
