When was the last time you read a great book and indulged in intellectual conversation about the text after reading? For many of us, it can be tough to make the time to find a good book and read it, much less find a friend to discuss it afterward, which is why the Mansfield Public Library’s monthly As the Page Turns Book Club for adults is a great community event. Each month you’ll read a carefully selected book and enjoy engaging conversation with fellow bookworms.

About the Mansfield Library Adult Book Club

Need a good excuse to read a book each month? Join fellow Mansfield book lovers at the As the Page Turns Book Club for adults each month at the Mansfield Public Library. The book club offers the perfect opportunity to read an engaging and thought-provoking book followed by stimulating discussion. This month’s book selection is The Terrorist’s Son: A Story of Choice by Zak Ebrahim. The award-winning book is the true story of a normal American boy with an unusual upbringing: The son of the terrorist who planned the 1993 World Trade Center bombing is the subject of this enthralling behind-the-scenes narrative. Despite his upbringing, the author did not become radicalized and did not share the beliefs of his terrorist father, which illustrates one of the main points of the text — that both hate and tolerance are choices we make. The delicate subject matter is likely to draw different reactions and insights from each reader, leading to meaningful discussion at the group’s September 15 book club.
